How do the engineers recommend reading the gauge? Lots of vertical lines between 10 and 25 m3/s mean there must be a lot of wave action or surging at the gauge location. Is it reasonable to take the average between the highs and lows? I assume it’s not flashing up and down that much each day– I’m guessing if they have the gauge they must have a way they’re used to reading it…?

13 cms looks to be about 3.2 on the stick gauge

Aint that place special! West Kootenay boaters have known about Cooper and many other similar area runs for years now. BC is not just Whistler/Squamish and the Stikine. FYI, Cooper is currently being threatened by an IPP proposal so spread the word and perhaps we may see this place stay just the way we like it, pristine! If you catch it with water in it the Yalakom is good action. We also did a short bit of Gun creek at too high water, but it is also excellent. Somebody has to get in and do Tyaughton; might be some walking involved there though.
