One more burn down:( Just cracked mine!!!
Thats 2 in just as many years.
Both cracked running class 3!!!!
I loved my Medium burn as well, didn't last nearly long enough, favorite boat in the world but have a hard time buying one again given the expiration date on most lately, only thing I like as much as the Burn so far is the new Stomper, hoping they will stand up well.
I've been through 4 Everests in exactly 3 years. That's pretty heavy use and a fair bit of multiday kayaking on each though, and only once I felt that it was a warranty issue (which was replaced by MEC, not Pyranha). I would say I have generally been happy with their product.
Fact of life: all boats break. Reguarly, when you paddle a lot, are a big person or aren't afraid of low water.
I hear ya..but at the same time it's nice to see people break their Dagger Nomads years after buying them respectively and still get compensated somewhat by the manufacturer towards a new boat of the same type.
Like you say, all boats break, but a step down warranty goes a long way towards keeping a paddler with your brand.
I'm interested to see how the new Stompers hold up!
i have also heard that although pyranha does not warranty their boats if you buy it from "MEC" they will warranty it.How long this will continue if they start to get flooded with returned boats is another question
I heard that if you buy at western you get free rescues.
I sell less Pyranha boats than any other manufactures boats, and have twice as many come back broken, and a lot faster. All boats break, some just break quicker and have less support.
I will admit I'm getting out of Pyranha now too. Still, they make good boats!
Maybe Pyranha have clued in and realize they don't have to warranty boats in a region with an MEC because MEC will replace them at their own expense, no questions asked, even if the breakage is clearly not a warranty issue (for example if you swim and destroy your boat). I've even heard of people bringing back boats to MEC that they didn't buy there in the first place, and they were successful getting a replacement.
