If you don't know about the Puntledge River then get out of your cave already.
Puntledge is classic Vancouver Island River, there is a great class 3/3+ play run with amazing surf. Above their is a class 4+/5 creek section with some amazing slides and a stout section of water falls.
The run is dam controlled and Shayne Vollmers our island whitewater guru gets emailed updates on when they will be releasing. BC Hydro works very closely with kayakers on this river, its an awesome resource.
Shayne emails us when he gets notification of releases and we will post here. Its well worth the drive and ferry cost for a weekend of predictable flows and Puntledge boating.
Now, go paddle the Puntledge and hug a BC Hydro employee.
