Description: The “Lake Down” run is the hardest stretch of water on the Chilliwack River. This run collects lots of wood and is very continuous, eddies are small and rare. In some years there have been river wide log jams that require portaging. This run is considerably lower volume than the Canyon or Classic run.
During winter months or when the camp ground is closed at Chilliwack Lake there will be a locked gate at the end of the paved road. It is about a 10 minute walk into the lake. The paddle from the boat launch to the mouth of the river will take another 10 minutes. Be courteous at the take out in the Post Creek community.
This run is often combined with the “Post Creek” run.
