Found near Hemlock Valley Ski Resort Chehalis is a beautiful river to paddle. Before you go to paddle it make sure that everyone is a solid III boater as any hike out often involves helicopters or 6 hours.

No formal gauge exists for this river but if you get two days of stiff rain it should be running. The Chehalis has beautiful canyon walls and a class IV drop or two that at last check was walkable.

The closest place for Whitewater gear is Western Canoeing & Kayaking located in Abbotsford just off the highway. If you’re looking for some locals to paddle with that is also the place to call. Many of the staff paddle whitewater and love to take people new to the area around.

The closest Whitewater Club is the Vancouver Kayak Club.
