The Chilliwack River
My local River is the Chilliwack. It is about 25 minutes from my front door in Abbotsford, British Columbia. It offers a wide variety of whitewater for people of all levels, except for you grade 5ers. But there are some creeks in the Chilliwack River valley and surrounding mountain ranges that will keep your grade 5 itch well scratched. The Chilliwack River is located in, oddly enough Chilliwack British Columbia. The river is fed by a couple of creeks and Chilliwack Lake. Some of the bigger Creeks are Tamahi which has two grade 4/4+ runs on it. Slesse Creek, which has a decent and easily accessible grade 3+ run and supposedly some grade 4-5 further up, which requires a hike. The biggest flows occur during spring from snow melt or fall from heavy rains.

Not sure how I did this but it was in the Chilliwack Canyon around 1.9-2.0 on the Canyon Gauge and I flipped some where in the drop called “Mels“.

The end of an after work park and play on the Osborne wave at Pointa Vista Cafe.
